Cable Flowers

Project Proposal for Recycling Art Festival during workshop “Abfall. Zufall. Einfall.” 2010, Hartberg, Austria

Technique: Recycled electric cable, banner. Dimensions: Cable Flowers – 30x5x5cm

Recycled electric cable looks to me like a stem of a flower. I would like to make them blooming like orchids, tulips, callas flowers. There is a “garden” of cables behind my monitor, printer, scanner and all my other equipment on my desk. I discovered that from the cables I can create some flower objects. I show the transformation for the cables to bloom in to a flower using the photography. In my photographs there are stories about silhouettes of flowers as a metaphor for human feelings.

Workshop “Abfall. Zufall. Einfall.” – “Trash. Chance. Idea” was designed to provide artists in particular and also experts in the environmental area with the possibility to ‘put the process in motion’ regarding the subjects: waste, waste reduction and recycling, in theoretical and practical papers.

Blooming Time

2006 – 2011

Flowers and smoke in my photos are metaphors to speak about eternity. In some people smoke may bring recollections of candles burnt at churches in prayers for the living or dead. Smoke symbolizes time – a brief moment and it has vanished.

It’s only the fruit of the viewers’ imagination. Like a child imagines a familiar silhouettes in shapes of clouds.”
